What’s the difference between Free-Roam and Room-Scale VR?

Free-Roam VR allows players to move throughout an open area without controller-based movement. Players can explore, battle, and interact together in the same shared space. 🎮🏃‍♂️

Room-Scale VR takes place within smaller defined play areas—around 5ft. x 5ft. for each person. Players move physically within that space and teleport through games using controller buttons.

Another major difference is the hardware: each of our Room-Scale VR headsets is paired with a high-end gaming PC, allowing these experiences to deliver more advanced visuals and breathtaking graphics, whereas the Free-Roam headsets run the games on the headsets themselves.

Can I play both Room-Scale and Free-Roam games during the same session?

No. 1 - 1½ hour sessions are reserved for either Room-Scale VR Games or Free-Roam VR Games, and you need to choose the corresponding option when booking.

Want to experience both during the same visit? You can book back-to-back Room-Scale and Free-Roam sessions and enjoy access to our entire library of 150+ VR games.

Do your VR headsets fit everyone?

Our Room-Scale VR headsets are highly adjustable and comfortably fit most children and adults, including guests who wear glasses.

The headsets we use in the Free-Roam Arena have built-in, non-removable straps with a stricter size limit. As a general guideline, the maximum head circumference is about 23½ inches without glasses, and slightly less for guests wearing glasses.

Guests who cannot comfortably wear a Free-Roam headset can still enjoy our Room-Scale VR Games, which accommodate a wider range of head sizes and eyewear.

What happened to your Loyalty Program?

Our Loyalty Points Program has been replaced by our new VIP Membership Program, but don’t worry—any points you previously earned still have value!

Every 10 remaining loyalty points will be converted into $1 of Legacy Loyalty Credit. For example, 100 points become a $10 credit, 300 points become a $30 credit, and so on.

Your credit may be used toward VR gaming, snacks, drinks, or party packages and can be used across multiple visits until the balance is gone. Legacy Loyalty Credit cannot be redeemed for cash.

Can I complete the waiver online for my kids or myself?

Yes! You can complete the waiver online in advance for yourself and/or your children, and you can easily share the link with other parents for birthday parties and group events: ✍️ tally.so/r/Bz7rYe

All waivers and acknowledgements must be completed before participating in any VR experiences at the arcade.

Do parents need to sign waivers for children under 18 at your VR arcade?

Yes! For anyone under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign a waiver before their first visit to Virtual Realms. 🥽📄

You can complete the waiver online in advance for yourself and/or your children, and easily share the link with other parents for birthday parties and group events: ✍️ tally.so/r/Bz7rYe

Parents can also complete the waiver either before or during the visit, and we’ll securely keep it on file for future return visits.

If I want to book over by phone, can I accept the booking terms online?

Yes! You can accept our terms and disclaimer using this form: ✍️ tally.so/r/2ENAOA

You can also complete the waiver online in advance for yourself and/or your children here: tally.so/r/Bz7rYe

A waiver must be completed for every player before participating in any VR gaming experiences.

Can players wear prescription glasses?

Yes! 👓🥽 Most players can comfortably wear prescription glasses inside our Room-Scale VR headsets, as long as the frames aren’t overly large.

Our Free-Roam Arena headsets have a stricter fit limitation due to their built-in straps. Guests with larger heads may not be able to use them with glasses, and some may not be able to wear the headset comfortably at all. As a general guideline, the maximum head circumference is about 23½ inches (7½ size hat) without glasses, and slightly less with glasses.

For the best visual clarity, we do recommend wearing contacts. ✨

Note: Polarized lenses and glasses with transparent frames are not compatible with our VR headsets.

What are the most popular types of VR experiences at your arcade?

Our most popular game categories include escape, action, and casual experiences. Our new Free-Roam Games are also quickly becoming customer faves. Guests love teaming up to solve puzzles, survive zombie outbreaks, and explore incredible fantasy realms together. ⚔️✨

With over 150 games available, there’s truly something for everyone — from first-time players to hardcore gamers.

Can we host birthday parties or private events at your VR arcade?

Absolutely! 🎉🥽 Virtual Realms is ideal for birthday parties, holiday celebrations, team building, and corporate events.

Reserve stations for your group, and we’ll help match games to your guests’ ages and experience levels — from action-packed adventures to family-friendly fun.

A dedicated party area with a big-screen spectator display and seating for up to 16 guests is available for $30/hour, or you can rent the entire arcade for larger events.

Call or text (503) 864-0104 for questions or help planning your VR experience.

Can we bring in outside food & drinks?

Yes! 🎉 You’re welcome to bring in outside food and non-alcoholic drinks for your visit. Guests who book our party room rental or full arcade rental are also welcome to bring outside catering or have food delivered directly to the arcade.

The only restriction is that alcohol is not permitted on the premises. 🍕🥤

What are the best VR games for beginners or first-time players?

For first-time players (especially non-gamers), we recommend VR games with simple controls, slower-paced gameplay, and easy movement.

Many of our Free-Roam VR Games are very beginner-friendly because they use simple controls and let players physically move through the space instead of relying on joystick movement or teleporting.

We’ve also created a Beginner Collection of Room-Scale VR Games that offer easy onboarding and intuitive controls. Our team is also always happy to help match you with games that fit your comfort level and interests — whether that’s puzzles, action, or exploration.

Do you take walk-ins, or should we book our VR sessions in advance?

We do welcome walk-ins whenever space is available, but booking online in advance is highly recommended. 🎮📅

Reservations secure your stations and allow us to prep the equipment before you arrive, providing a smoother onboarding experience.

Do you offer gift certificates/cards for birthdays, holidays, or special occasions?

Yes! 🎁✨ We offer gift cards that make perfect gifts for birthdays, holidays, or any special occasion.

They can be used toward VR sessions, snacks, drinks, or merchandise.

Gift cards can be picked up directly at the arcade or ordered by phone at (503) 864-0104.

A fun and memorable gift for anyone ready to experience something truly out of this world. 🌌🎉

Do you offer a military discount?

🇺🇸🎖️ We proudly offer a 15% military discount for service members and veterans.

This discount applies to all VR experiences, party room and arcade rentals, as well as snacks, drinks, and merchandise.

A current military ID is required to receive the discount.

Note: This offer cannot be combined with other promotions or discounts.

Are there chairs available for longer gaming sessions?

Yes! 🎮🪑 We have spinning chairs available for longer VR gaming sessions.

They work with most of our Room-Scale VR Games and are free to use, as long as they’re not already in use by other guests.

What happens if we leave our VR session early?

All sessions are purchased for a set duration and begin once gameplay starts. If you choose to leave early, no partial refunds, credits, or carryovers are provided for unused time.

You’re welcome to take short breaks between games (up to 10 minutes per hour of VR). However, if you take a break while a game is still in progress, it will count against your total session time.

If a technical issue occurs that prevents normal gameplay (as determined by staff), we’ll extend, reschedule, or credit the affected time at our discretion.

Is Virtual Realms wheelchair-accessible or suitable for players with limited mobility?

Yes! ♿🥽 Our VR stations are designed with accessibility in mind, and many of our Room-Scale VR Games can be enjoyed seated (look for the "seated" tag on our game pages for games that are wheelchair-accessible).

If you have any specific accessibility needs, let us know in advance so we can make sure everything is fully set up for your comfort and experience.

What’s the minimum age for kids to play at your VR arcade?

For safety and comfort, we welcome players ages 7 and up at Virtual Realms. 🎮🥽

You can explore our Room-Scale Kids Games to find the best options for younger players. Many of our Free-Roam VR Games are also great for kids and families.

If you need help choosing the right game(s) for your child or group, feel free to call or text us at (503) 864-0104.

Is Virtual Realms a good place for family entertainment or group outings?

Absolutely! 🎉🎮🥽 We offer 150+ immersive VR games and experiences that are perfect for groups of all sizes.

Whether you’re planning a friend or family fun night, a birthday party, team-building session, or corporate event, we can accommodate up to 48 people.

Our modern party area is available to reserve for just $30 per hour (1½ hr, 4-station minimum) and includes seating for up to 16 guests and 2 large spectator displays (1 Free-Roam and 1 that shows 4 x Room-Scale stations split-screen) so non-players can enjoy the action.

For bigger celebrations, you can even rent out the entire arcade for a fully private experience! 🥳

How accurate are the game duration times listed in your VR game library?

We’ve personally tested and completed many of the games we offer, but due to the large number of games in our library, it isn’t possible to test all of them to 100% completion.

Some games include long campaigns or arcade-exclusive modes in which completion time varies with player skill.

To keep things accurate, we reference average completion times and official developer information, and we regularly update our website to help guests plan their visits.

Many games also show a time range (e.g., 45 min – 4 hrs). Typically, the lower end reflects a single level or match, while the higher end represents full game completion.

Does the difficulty rating for games apply to physical toughness or puzzle complexity?

Our difficulty ratings are based on a combination of puzzle complexity, physical activity, and controller mechanics. 🎮🧩

For example, a game with simple puzzles but challenging controls may still be rated “Challenging” and vice versa.

In general, “Easy” and “Normal” games won’t require quick reflexes, constant movement, or complex controls—making them great for beginners, families, and relaxed VR fun.

If you’re curious about a specific game’s rating, feel free to call or text us at (503) 864-0104. Our team is always happy to help!

How physically challenging are your VR games?

The level of physical activity in our VR games varies by title. 🏃‍♂️

Most games involve light movement and are comfortable for beginners, while others—such as Racket Pinball and Pistol Whip—offer a more active, high-energy experience.

If you’re planning a group outing or looking for fun indoor entertainment, our staff can recommend games that match your comfort level and play style.

If you need help selecting titles for your specific needs, feel free to call or text us at (503) 864-0104. Our team is always happy to help!

How difficult is it to use the controllers?

Most of our VR games feature simple, intuitive controls that new players pick up quickly. 🎮✨

Some titles may take a few extra minutes to master, but built-in tutorials (available in select games) make learning easy.

We also provide a quick walkthrough before each session and are always nearby if you need help during play.

If you’re new to VR, you can browse our Beginner Room-Scale Games collection for titles designed specifically for first-time players. Almost all of our Free-Roam VR Games are also very easy to jump right into, and almost all of them offer in-game instructions and simple controls.

Even newcomers can jump in and start having fun within minutes! 🎉

Do your VR games cause motion sickness or nausea?

Most modern VR games are designed to reduce motion sickness, and we optimized settings across our entire library to further improve comfort for our players, but sensitivity can still vary from person to person.

Some players may still experience mild discomfort or dizziness, especially in fast-moving experiences.

We include a “Motion Sickness” tag on game pages for titles where this is most prevalent, so you can choose with confidence.

If you ever feel uneasy during play, let our staff know immediately—as we may be able to optimize settings to make your session more enjoyable.

Does the “Seated” tag mean a game must be played sitting down?

No. 🥽🎮 A “Seated” tag simply means a game can be played while sitting—it is not required.

We do have two titles we specifically recommend playing seated—1976: Back to Midway ✈️ and Kayak VR Mirage 🚣—since they feature in-vehicle perspectives.

However, players are always welcome to stand if they prefer, or sit while playing most of our other Room-Scale VR Games as well.

Can visitors watch their friends or family members play VR?

Yes! 🎮👀 We have an XL spectator display in our lobby where guests can watch up to four Room-Scale players in real time. 📺

We also have two additional spectator displays in our party area—one showing our other four Room-Scale stations and another dedicated to the Free-Roam Arena. Guests are welcome to use these screens whenever the party area isn't in use; however, they are reserved for party guests whenever the space is booked.

It’s a fun way for friends and family to cheer players on, follow the action, and share in the laughs throughout each experience!

Because each screen can display up to four stations at once, spectator viewing may be limited during busy times. If you’d like to guarantee access to one or all three displays, we recommend reserving the party area or booking the entire arcade.

What safety measures are in place to ensure a comfortable VR experience?

Player safety and comfort are top priorities at Virtual Realms. 🥽🛡️

Each headset is sanitized between uses, and our equipment includes hygienic facial padding and cooling fans for added comfort.

We also provide a quick orientation and gameplay tips before each session to help you get started smoothly.

Our staff monitors gameplay to ensure safe movement within play areas and is always available if you experience discomfort or motion sensitivity.

What VR equipment do you use?

We use upgraded Meta Quest 3 VR headsets for our Room-Scale Stations, selected for their exceptional visual clarity, strong wireless performance, and broad accessory support. Each headset includes several comfort upgrades such as plush adjustable straps, premium facial padding, built-in cooling, and ergonomic controller grips. 🎮❄️

Our room-scale headsets are powered by hand-built VR gaming PCs, optimized specifically for virtual reality. With cutting-edge graphics cards and high-performance components, they deliver smooth frame rates, detailed visuals, and seamless gameplay.

Our Free-Roam Arena uses Pico 4 Ultra Enterprise headsets, built for wireless, location-based VR where up to four players can move, explore, and play together in the same shared arena.
